Students can choose to stay in a Host Family or at the Key Institute.

Host Family

Host family Students may be placed with host families close to the centre for the duration of their holiday at Key Institute.

All the host families are personally known to the McGarry family and have been specially chosen for their friendliness and comfort of their homes. In each host family there are usually 2 guest students (different tongues) of a similar age.

The Host families are in Sligo Town/ Strandhill village and in the area near the Key Institute. The details of the Host family are sent by post to you 4 weeks prior to departure.

Living with a family, students will quickly get to know the inhabitants of a country well-known for their friendliness.Living in a foreign family, young people learn about the daily life and cultures of the Irish people and are able to discuss their differences with their host family.

Accommodation is also available onsite in the Key Institute in Carrowmore. 20 students can be accommodated.

The accommodation is fully supervised and all the bedrooms are en-suite. This accommodation is recommended for young students, or those who prefer to stay with a group of students.

*Supplement for onsite accommodation €75 per week
